Yesterday we set a record high here in Bakersfield...it was 111*! Yeah, one hundred eleven degrees! It should be illegal to be that HOT! Needless to say I'm dreading getting our electric bill this month because we are definitely in the middle of a heatwave, and that means we're running the a/c in our two story house all the live long day. I'm thinking about putting a donation link on my blog...kidding...well, sort of! Heh
Anyway, we knew it was going to be hell-on-earth-hot here yesterday, so we made plans to get outta this joint for the day. The 73* offerings of our hometown (which happens to be a BEACH town) sounded delightful. We had a day of fun, sun and water...and a few firsts for the Little Lady.
We started the day off at Grandma W's with a little sprinkler time...

Then Grandma W thought it would be fun to introduce Addison to Oreo Cookies. She pretty much decided that they were the best thing on earth!

After that fun, we headed down to Hueneme Beach with Grandpa W, Auntie Becca and Cousin Jake. Addie didn't care much for the water at all (it was way too cold), but kind of liked the sand.

After some fun on the shore, we headed out to a late lunch and then hit the road towards home. It was a nice and relaxing day, spent with the best kind of company...family.
