Hospital, Smoshpital

We had to bring Addison back to the ER last night because her symptoms hadn't really improved. They finally decided to admit her. We had to be transferred via Ambulance to another hospital because apparently there is only one in this town that admits pediatric patients!?!

Since being here she's been steadily improving. Her labs are looking good and her appetite is finally beginning to reappear.

We are just waiting for the Dr to make her rounds and we should hopefully be discharged this evening.

Thank you to everyone for keeping her in your thoughts. We greatly appreciate it!

Adventures in the ER

Yesterday we had our first experience with taking Addison to the Emergency Room. She had been vomiting since Saturday, along with other things and it didn't appear to be getting better.

We took her to the Dr yesterday morning and she advised us to take her to the Emergency Room for fluids because she was dehydrated. Poor thing had lost 6lbs in a matter of 2 weeks (most likely over the weekend). We were there all day long. She needed a lot of hydration.

So far, she appears to be doing ok. She was given nausea medication that will hopefully let her keep something down. Our fingers are crossed and we thank everyone for their thoughts!

Take me back....

Tonight Anaya (my BFF) and I are going to head downtown to the Rabobank Arena to catch No Doubt with special guests Paramore and The Sounds.

I cannot even describe how excited I am. I've been listening to the musings of No Doubt since I was in Junior High...before No Doubt made their mark in the music world in 1994 with the release of Tragic Kingdom.

Gwen Stefani is the epitome of beauty (in my book anyway). I've seen her several times, with the most recent being last year on her Sweet Escape tour. I'm looking forward to seeing her 'back with the boys' and rocking out all of the No Doubt "Classics," if you will.

I've recently become a fan of Paramore and Haley Williams is an amazingly talented singer & songwriter at the young age of 20. I cannot wait to see their performance.

I promise to be back with pictures and reviews. I'm also excited to try out my camera at a concert. We shall see how I do in dark lighting! Wish me luck!

Summer is on the horizon

Sunday we spent the day at Casa de Padilla, floating in the pool and being all sorts of lazy. The high here was 105*! Way too hot, way too soon!

Addison loved the water even more so than she did last year. She spent lots of quality time floating around in her ladybug floater and doing tricks with Daddy.

Greg & Anaya have a new addition to the family...in the form of a 4-legged furry pup. His name is Walker and Addison was all about him! She loves dogs!

Shreddin' It

Starting on Monday, I'm jumping on the phenomenon that's been traveling around the interwebs....the Jillian Michaels' 30-Day Shred.

I've watched a few bloggers successfully complete the 30-days and I'm convinced. I bought this DVD a while back, and I've done it a handful of times. It's been sitting in my DVD player collecting dust since! It is a hard non-stop 20 minute work out that will leave you gasping for breath...but no pain = no gain, right!?!?

I'm trying to get up the nerve to post before, during and after pictures to document my progress.

Easter {recap}

Yeah, I know Easter was over a month ago...I'm a slacker, sheesh.

We hosted Easter at our house for the first time. It was really nice to have both of our families up here to celebrate.

The Easter Bunny brought Addie a water table, and she loved playing with it. I see it getting a LOT of use this Summer! It was also the end of her dress, since it got soaked!

We had an awesome late lunch of Honey Baked Ham and yummy side dishes. Uncle Jeff also snuck someone some chocolate when Mama wasn't looking! Ahem

We did an egg hunt in the backyard for the big boys, and one for the little ones out in the front yard. Addie wasn't quite sure what to do, but she looked cute nonetheless!

It was a great day and I hope we can host it again next year!

Sicky McSickerson

My poor baby is sick, for what seems like the umpteenth time this year.

It all started on Sunday night with a low grade fever, which we attributed to the 4 molars she's cutting. It sky rocketed to a 102.7* fever by the wee hours of the morning and we've been on this crazy fever wave ever since.

We took her to the Dr's yesterday, and the culprit is a double-ear infection. Our Dr said that ear infections often go hand in hand with cutting molars. Oh joy!

So, yesterday she basically slept the day away and we went back to the Dr this morning for a follow up. She was very concerned with the high temperature. It was still there, so now we wait and see if it goes away within the next few days, if not we go back. Addison has been on a Motrin & Tylenol rotation every 4 hours. Poor kid hates the stuff!
I took her into work with me for a few hours this morning and it was quite a riot to say the least.
We only suffered one casualty, she broke the head off of my Dwight Schrute bobble head! Poor Dwight!

Saturday Morning Waffles

Movies in the Park

Last Saturday night we went to the first Movies in the Park of the season. We weren't sure what to expect since we've never been to one before, but now we know what we need to bring in the future.

The night's feature was Wall-E. Such a cute movie! There are several more planned from now through the beginning of fall! You can find the schedule here for those who are interested! It's a great free family event! We'll definitely be going to quite a few more.

We met up with our friends, The Neills, but Addison wasn't too interested in playing with William.
