Gregory Alan Isakov - Big Black Car

you were a phonograph, i was a kid
i sat with an ear close, just listening
i was there when the rain tapped her way down you face
you were a miracle…i was just holdin your space

well time has a way of throwing it all in your face
the past, she is haunted, the future is laced
heartbreak, ya know, drives a big black car
swear i was in the back seat, just minding my own

and through the glass, the corn crows come like rain
they won’t stay, they won’t stay
for too long now

this could be all that we know..
of love and all.

well you were a dancer, i was a rag
the song in my head, well was all that i had
hope was a letter i never could send
love was a country we couldn’t defend.

and through the carnival we watch them go round and round
all we knew of home was just a sunset and some clowns

well you were a magazine, i was a plane jane
just walking the sidewalks all covered in rain
love to just get into one of your stories
just me and all of my plane jane glory

{sushi lover in training?}

Tuesday night a good friend was in town and wanted to meet for dinner, so we loaded up and headed to one of our favorite spots, Tokyo Garden.

Addison was enamored with the chopsticks. Aunite Anaya came along with us, and was teaching her the fine art of using them. They gave her a cheater set and she was eating her rice like a pro!

I shot a little video of her doing her thing. She's so awesome!

{happy valentine's day}

I'm definitely slacking this year. I just had a quick minute to snap a picture today before we hopped into the car and were off to Preschool.

Hope your Valentine's Day is filled with love & chocolate! :)

{i want to ride my bicycle, i want to ride my bike}

As I was editing these pictures of Addison riding her bike, Queen's s Bicycle Race was running through my head....which is probably while I gave them a vintage feel.

Anyway, the weather has been warming up and it's been staying light longer in the evenings so we've finally been able to go on bicycle rides! She loves her bike!

{soccer star}

On Saturday evening, Addison had her first soccer class. It was cuteness overload, that's for sure.

She and Daddy had a great time and are looking very forward to next week's class.

{catching up}

Illness has hit our household like a ton of bricks as of late. I battled Tonsillitis last week, now Karl has something very similar to pneumonia and Addison has had a cold that just won't quit for the past few weeks.

The plan this weekend is to chill out at home, get things cleaned up and in order. My house is a wreck, laundry's piled high and the cupboards & fridge are looking scarce. This is definitely not the weekend to go near a grocery store, but I have no choice. :)

---
Addison starts her soccer class tomorrow evening, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how she does with that! Have no fear...I'm bringing the camera! LOL Hopefully I'll be able to get some of those up this weekend.

Karl & I have really stepped up our dieting & exercising efforts since the beginning of the year and we're seeing great results. He's been hitting the gym every morning at 5am, and I've recently discovered Spinning. I love it! It's such a great workout!

I've also subscribed to a meal planning service that has been a great help to us! E-Mealz only costs $1.25/week, and they do everything for you! I get to print out an awesome menu each week that is complete with instructions for preparing and a shopping list. It makes dinner time in our house so much easier and cuts our grocery bill down a ton because we're only buying what we need. I highly recommend checking it out if you're interested. There are several different plans that they offer that should work for everyone!
