It's been hot and humid out here for the past week. We needed a break from staying indoors and a trip to the zoo was just the ticket!

We woke up early and headed up to the Fresno Chaffee Zoo for some family fun! Wow! is all we can say about it! It's such a nice zoo! It's just the perfect fit for us. Bigger than the Santa Barbara Zoo, but smaller than the LA Zoo....and as a bonus we didn't have to travel over the Grapevine! We've been trying to avoid that at all costs lately due to the havoc it wreaks on Addison's ears.

We checked out the Prairie Dogs

Got a little skeeved at the Sea Lions that were barking

Enjoyed all the beautiful birds

Fed Baba the Giraffe without hesitation

Got to see Baba the Giraffe's new baby boy born not even 24 hours ago!

Went wild over the Zebras

Act goofy by the elephant statue

Marvel at the elephants in person and watch one cool off (she really like the elephants)

And talk Mommy & Daddy into buying her into this ridiculous Giraffe toy! LOL
