Santa Barbara Zoo

On Sunday, after the reunion festivities were over, we decided to take Addison to the Santa Barbara Zoo. I have many fond memories of visiting the SB Zoo as a kid. Addison loved it to say the least. She really loved tracking the animals. Can't wait until she's a bit older and we can take her to the San Diego Zoo!

Family Reunion

This past weekend we went out to beautiful Santa Barbara for the McLarty Family Reunion (Karl's Dad's Mom is a McLarty). We had fun catching up with realitives that we haven't seen in a long time, and every one seemed to really enjoy meeting Miss Addison!

Headed to the Beach

Tomorrow we're headed to Santa Barbara for the weekend for a family reunion! While I'm looking forward to getting out of Bakersfield for the weekend, I am loathing the job of packing for a 5 month old. It's not as easy as it was when we flew back east when she was 3 weeks old! This trip requires a little more clothing, a pack & play, toys, etc.

I think the Tahoe will be a little over-packed, but better safe than sorry, right?!Anyway, I hope to have lots of pictures to share. We haven't gotten together with his Dad's side of the family in about 5 years.

The beach awaits....

5 months {a recap}

Addison's appointment went very well yesterday! She's now weighing in at 18lbs 6oz and measuring 26 3/4" long! We're in the 95th percentile for everything! Sheesh!

We've started introducing solid foods a few weeks ago and so far we are a big fan of carrots. We really dislike peas (I don't blame her) and we will tolerate sweet potatoes. We're holding off on introducing fruit until we get the veggies down. I'm pretty positive that she'll gobble that stuff down and won't bother with the veggies anymore...so I'm trying to avoid that!

She can pretty much sit up on her own now, but tends to fall over when she gets really excited and her legs start going. We have also discovered our voice and our high pitch range. That girl can give Mariah Carey a run for her money!

We're enjoying every minute with our little miracle and can't believe how fast it's all going by!

5 Months

Happy 5 Months to our precious little one!

It's hard to believe that we've come this far. It seems like just yesterday I was learning how to be a Mommy and take care of our special arrival!

Here's a few pictures that I snapped. I'll post later with some of our milestones and our current stats. Call me a bad Mom, but I scheduled her Dr appointment for today without thinking. So, shots and all of that fun stuff are on the menu for today!

Hiccups are Funny

Apparently Addison thinks the hiccups are pretty darn funny. I had gotten them, and to our suprise she busted up laughing. I grabbed the camera, faked the hiccups and got the same response. The lighting isn't all that great, but it's the sound of the giggling that we were after. =o)

Look Ma, No Hands!

Addison has been practicing her sitting up skills. She's getting pretty good at it!

PS - This was my first attempt at video editing, so sorry if it seems cheezy!

It's been a while...

Sorry it's been a while since I've posted. My laptop has been getting re-vamped for about the past 2 weeks, so I haven't had a way to download pictures/movies from our camera. I am still without my beloved, but I have stolen Karl's laptop and installed some software on it, so now I can share again!

Anyway, here are a few pics that I snapped the other night. Lots of updates coming soon!

Battle of the Bulge

So, I want to lose some weight. I've lost the baby weight, but I am so unsatisfied with the current state that my body resides in. So I felt that if I actually posted about it, then I could be held accountable. Lame, I know, but I have to do it!

Shots - Round 2

Addison had a Dr. appointment on the 8th (yeah, I'm a bit behind on the updating), and her stats were 16.5lbs & 25 3/4" long. She also got her second round of shots, and I didn't cry this time! =o) We're doing a delayed vaccination schedule, so she only gets 2 at a time...that results in a non-cranky baby which is really nice.

We're also working on our first tooth or two. I don't know if both are going to appear, but we see 2 little white nubs on her bottom gums. Why must this kid insist on being head of the curve on everything?! It's like she's in a hurry to grow up! =o)

Lil Steam Roller

Addison now rolls! Back to front, and more impressive at this stage...back to front! =o) Here's a little video that we took on July 11th. She's got it down pact now, but it was fun watching her learn.

Goldfinger

Addison discovered her nostrils this past weekend and it was caught on camera. I think it's the perfect picture for a greeting card! =o)

Swimming with Daddy

We spent more time at Greg & Anaya's yesterday eating leftovers from the 4th, and hanging in the pool.

Addison got some good pool time with Daddy, and then was pooped out and fell asleep on Mommy!

All American Girl

Addison's first 4th of July was a low key one. We just went over to Greg & Anaya's house for a BBQ with friends & some pool time.

Addison loved the fireworks, or should I say the ones that she was awake for anyway.

I forgot to bring the camera with us, so there are no pool or fireworks pictures. Bad Mommy! I did however remember to take some pictures of her in her cute 4th of July outfit! =o)

Busy Sunday

This past Sunday Addie was the girl on the go.

We lounged around the house for a while, while Daddy did some yard work:

Then we went over to Greg & Anaya's for a BBQ Lunch and some pool time:

And then off to Daddy's softball game:

We ended our day with a gourmet dinner at IHOP with good friends. =o)

Exersaucin'

Today, we put Addison in her fancy-schamcy Exersaucer that Great Grandma Hower (aka Gigi) got for her. She had a blast, but I think she'll like it even more once she can better reach the toys.

Jumping Monkey

We introduced Addison to the Jumperoo last week and she LOVED it! I took video of it, but for some reason it turned out really grainy when I uploaded it.

Here it is, but I'm trying to find another site to host it on where it will be clearer.

Outdoor Living

For the past few weeks, Karl has been busy working hard on getting the backyard ready for some summer lounging.

A week ago he and a few friends poured a new cement patio, put up a new gazebo, and for my birthday he bought me a patio set.

I can't wait to spend many summer nights hanging out in our new spot! You did such a great job honey!
